As someone who has curly hair, I know how hard it is to maintain the "soft, romantic" look or to ahieve that "sexy, sultry" look that magazines go ga-ga about. However, you can begin by being grateful that you's got a headstart, compared to your straight-haired sisters. Now, ready?

Unless you have a whole lot of hair, do not use a moisturising shampoo with a heavy-duty conditioner. If you like to use a sweet-smelling, heavy-duty conditioner that you really can't resist, then please wash your hair with a volumizing shampoo first.

If possible, give your hair a bucket of cold water as the last rinse. Now, gently pat dry with a towel your hair. Let it rest.

Once on the threshold of losing most of the wetness, apply some baby oil generously. Well, not too generously either, but you know, just enough to keep your hair in place, give it a glossy appearance and feel soft in your hands. DO THIS VERY GENTLY TO YOUR HAIR. Don't worry too much about the curls, but that doesn't mean you can use the brush.

Now, let it rest some more. The curls will curl themselves on their own and that's no business of anybody's. Style as desired!

I have insanely curly hair that i like to straighten occasionally, but what i found works really good is redken "straight", which is a straightening lotion, but works really well in curly hair too to prepare it for styling and keep away frizzies
