Question about hair style?

My hair is growing out. I had an 80s look with all layers that would grow out in a months time.

But my hair is at the in between stage too long for layers but not long enough for the straight look that young ladies are wearing.

I use a hot iron after my hair is washed and dried but it never looks that great someone hot ironed my hair and it came out great. Can you reccomend a good hot iron to straighten hair?

My hair is coarse and dry and gets greasy and oily and I get dandruff what shampoo and conditioner should I use as well?

I also live in an area where the water is hard and tends to be dry on my hair what can I do about that?

Being I am going on job interviews I want to look my best. What are good simple hair styles I could wear that are modern and up to date?

If you want a Wal-Mart priced flat iron, consider the Conair Infiniti, I found it to be very good.

I found that a great trick is product. Just like when you're curling your hair, use some mousse (which I used to never do). Work it through your hair and let it dry a little. It will really make your hair smoother longer. The hold is also great for curls, it lasts all day and is not stiff, like hairspray.

Since you'll be using a heating tool so often, don't skip conditioner. Also, try the VO5 hot oil to keep your hair from becoming too try and damaged.

If you have a large barrel curling iron, after you straighten, give the very ends a couple of seconds around the curler, just the ends, it'll give your look some life.

Question about hair style?

the best wet to dry straight straightener is called a Maxiglide. Its a bit pricey but well worth it

You should use fekkai shampoo and conditioner or tresemme and also use infusium leave in conditioner

also, try a simple bun, not too tight

http://www.folica.com/Hot_Tools_Profe_d1... is sturdy and better yet, CHEAP! Bought it for my cousin 5 years ago. She says she use it almost daily. It rated at 4 1/2 stars which is great. Read comments on that link, you will find it amazing.

My hair is very thick and was coarse but now I had it chemical straighten treatment which helps with the dryness and tame the coarse. I use Herbal Essences None of your Frizzness http://www.herbalessences.com/us/collect...

There is another... it may work for you. %26gt;%26gt;%26gt; http://www.herbalessences.com/us/collect...

Very easy to use!

Question about hair style?

Kinda like my hair woes,=)

It isn't recommended that you hot iron your hair every day, or regularly for that matter. It dries it too much. If you are going to iron it out, I suggest a ceramic iron, it's not as drying as the traditional flat irons and it has some ionized something or other that's good for hair.

Have you considered dying or highlighting your locks? It could give a refreshing boost to dull hair. Just be sure to have it done by a professional or it might end up worse than before!

For dry hair, use a conditioner everytime you shampoo. Try different conditioners to see which one works for you. Be sure to rinse it out well afterwards because left over conditioner residue will weigh hair down and make it coarse. For the dandruff, the conditioning might get rid of it, but if not, try different shampoos until you find one that works for you. I guess there not much you could do to change your water but you could have an occasional hot oil to counter it. There are hot oil treatments you could do at home for a fraction of the price of professional treatments.

As for hair styles, there are many factors to consider, some of them are, your age, the look you want to express, your outfit, and your mood. Say, a job interview, you want to look professional and smart - a simple ponytail would do the trick. Make the 'tail loose enough to be feminine but not too loose that it looks like you just came from a jog.

Question about hair style?

I wish I could help with the flat iron - but I like my natural curls...

But for coarse hair - I do know this.

Your hair needs SOME oil. When it is not getting the right amount - or is stripped too heavily, your body will OVER PRODUCE body oils to compensate. Coarse hair will regularly break without the oil.

Clear shampoos remove oil and residues - creamy ones can build oily residues. Personally - I think I remember Nutragena T/Gel being a clear dandruff shampoo... and perhaps Denorex.

Skip creamy conditioners - look for the clear kinds like Infusium to use as a detangler... but since you over produce oil, you CAN rinse it out. I think V05 makes one as well...

Use this until your scalp calms down. (Our hormones make it worse as we cycle... no matter what we do, sadly.)

To counter the hard water build up (I have that problem as well...) there IS a hard water device designed for the shower. It is an electric chord designed to wrap around the shower head water pipe - that when plugged in, doesn't allow the calcium molecules to bind - therefore softening your water without having to buy a monthly filter.

Short of buying THAT - or an actual filter that requires changing expensive filter cartridges... use 1/2 cup of lemon juice on your hair every couple of weeks... it removes all residue and helps reduce your scalp oil a bit.

While growing your hair out - I use extra large hair combs to pull my hair back off my face. Headbands that are thin are out these days - but you can find inexpensive WIDE headbands that are quite cute at Dollar Stores and Wallmart. If you are younger than 30 - then the headband should be the same color as your outfit to be in style... but older than 30, it should be the color of your hair. Colored bands over 30 look like we're trying to recapture our youth.

I wish I knew what to suggest for a flat iron... I'd try and get a ceramic one that steams... but you might consider going to a salon and having your hair chemically straightened so you wouldn't need a flat iron. You could then ask for professional guidance about dealing with your oily hair from someone who was expert at dealing with the hard water in your area.

I hope these things help... Good luck and God Bless, hon!

Peace.
