Im 12 (almost 13) and really need new hair styles for my hair. My hair is brown and wavy(except i usually straighten it for school).But im really getting bored with it just staying down.Does any one have any new looks i could try.I just need something simple i can do in the morning but cute so it will look good. 9. braid your hair at night, put some mousse on it in the morning and wear your hair wavy

10. try different parts on your hair or sweep your bangs to the side (if you have bangs)

11. take your bangs and pin then up with a little bit of a pouf and off to the side

hey gurl, I'M 12 too! let me suggest a cute short look. ask for your hair in a bulb shape ending at the middle of your neck, or slightly below. layer it (but not so that its choppy!) and use some light hold and volumizing gel on it before skool. dont straighten your hair! i hav ALWAYS wanted my hair waved up, and that iron is bad for your gorgeous locks!

I'd be very careful w/ home remedies because you can run into alot of problems.

If you have alot of build-up you need a Clarifying shampoo. They are great for taking aloe, hair spray and other impurity build-up off the hair w/ out ruining your hair like some of the things other people are telling you to use.

You might start using a clarifying shampoo everyday for about 4 days straight, but than after that maybe use it every couple of days. You don't want to use it everyday because it will cause dryness to your hair. You need to use a good moisturizing conditioner to keep the hair soft %26amp; moist.

Also, I know you probably love the products you are using on your hair, you might want to consider trying something new. If they are building up they are not very good products to be using.

I am naturally ginger but have been dying my hair for almost 2 years now. I started off going red ( LIVE red passion) on top and black underneath. But after a while the red still wouldn't go the red color i wanted so i got bored and dyed my hair dark brown. The style i have had in my hair has been a side part with a side fringe cut in. My hair is quite long. Now i am bored and i am thinking about dying my hair black all over and getting my eyebrows tinted to match. Maybe get a few strips of blonde added. My style is quite alternative so could you suggest any styles i should go for or have any pictures that may inspire me?

You should get white blond in your fringe and dye the rest jet black. Maybe cut it a little bit.

But don't dye your eyebrows!!! It's really ugly! I'm blond and use to dye my hair black, so you could tell by my eyebrows, so I just wore eye make up on it. And you can't tell the difference, there are pencils for eyebrows, just find the closest color, and at least you can change your eyebrows every time your change your hair color!

ive found curling products (like gel and mousse) dont really work. to get some curl u should try hotsticks. u can buy a set at walmart for about 15 dollars and they are awesome! if u use lots of hairspray (i use rave) and about 1-2 day old dirty hair (dirty hair works best with these) the curls should last all day and then some. oh and hotsticks shouldnt be any worse than a diffuser :D

It really depends on the length of hair. If it is long enough to put up, you can make it look nice if you do a side part and pull it back into a pony tail. Then take an alligator clip and clip the pony tail up to make some volume. A little back combing and tada, you have a cute little updo.

Styling hair??

Headband Bun

1. Take a 1/4-inch section of hair from directly above your left ear, and braid it. Secure with a mini elastic.

2. Lay the braid across the top of your head, about one inch from your forehead.

3. Pin the end of the braid above your right ear.

4. Tease the hair at your crown.

5. Smooth hair back gently with a brush.

6. Gather all your hair into a low ponytail, and secure with an elastic.

7. Twist the ponytail around itself (into a bun), and secure with bobby pins.

Side-swept Braid

1. Make a low part on your left side.

2. Sweep your hair to the right, and gather your hair over your right shoulder.

3. Starting below your right ear, start braiding hair.

4. Secure braid with an elastic.

5. Take a 1/4-inch section from the end of the braid, and wrap it around the elastic.

6. Secure underneath the ponytail with bobby pins.

Teased Half-back

1. Tease your hair.

2. Take a two-inch hair section (starting just above your left ear), and twist once.

3. Secure twist with bobby pin. Insert pin at an upward angle so that the teased section will retain its volume.

4. Repeat (working from left ear to right ear) until all your hair is pulled back into a half-ponytail.

Polished Loop

1. Make a low part on your left side.

2. Sweep your hair to the right, and gather your hair into a low ponytail below your right ear. Secure with an elastic.

3. Take the entire tail, make a loop, and secure the ends underneath the elastic with bobby pins.

Regal Pony

1. Tease hair at crown.

2. Gather hair into ponytail about three inches above the nape of your neck. Secure with an elastic.

3. Take a 1/2-inch section of hair from the pony, and wrap it around the elastic. Secure underneath the elastic with pins.

4. Tease the pony for extra volume. Gently smooth with a brush or fingers.

Side Braid

1. Part your hair on the left side.

2. Take a 1/2-inch section of hair just to the right of the part (about an inch back from your forehead).

3. Braid across your head, toward your right ear.

4. Secure above your right ear with bobby pins.

to use the wax put just a LITTLE bit on your fingers and pick a small section of hair to twist. then move on to another section. do that on your whole head to get the piecy bedhead look or use the straightener and hairspray. take a small section of hair, spray it, then straighten dont' comb thru after your done straightening

Ok, I have wavy frizzy hair and I don't know what to do with it! When I try to get my natural wavy look by putting gell in my hair and scrunching it, it just looks sorta limp... When I try to straighten it, it is still real frizzy at the tips... I mainly would be satisfied with my slightly wavy hair if the tips wouldn't frizz! If I add leave in conditioner it just gets frizzier! If I try to blow dry straighten it will NOT keep straight... Could you give me any suggestions on what to do BESIDES cutting my hair.

I totally know how you feel. I actually suffer from similar problems. However, recently I found out that braiding is surprisingly the answer to all of the frizz problems. At night, before you go to bed, take a shower and wash your hair. Once you come out, braid your hair firmly and tightly and put some type of hair firmer like gel to keep the hair in that type of braidy texture. In the morning, your hair will have beautiful waves that are not frizzy. To ensure wonderful hair texture, put some more hair gel or hair spray. Your hair would be guaranteed a stylish and pretty look!

Thursday, Almost Settled in : Wear your hair the same way you did on monday, but straighten it or curl it.

Friday, Last day of fun : This is your last day before tests and homework galore, so wear your hair wild one last time. I suggest a cute updo with curls falling around. Ive tryeds it before and it was so pretty it won a beauty pageant for me!

1. so i know you said you didn't want it half up...but i have gotten so many compliments when my hair is like this. If your hair is down and you take like 2 strands from the front and bobby pin it in the back in like random twirls...kinda messy (i know you said you didn't want messy either) but it looks super cute, it's easy and keeps the hair out of your face

2. pony tails are always cute and then stick a ribbon over your hair tie...always looks great...if the ribbon matches your outfit

but the only thing i would do different than the pics is, you know like the two bottom layers that are way longer than the rest? well, dont make too long, like i would say about 2.5 inches shorter than they are in the picture.

Well i know what you mean I used to wear my hair in a ponytail all the time. And after a while it does get boring. It really depends if your hair is short or long. If it's long i would recommend you curl your hair. If it's short i think that the best way to go is straightening your hair. Well like you i have very dark brown hair %26amp; some people sometimes think it's black. Anywho i resently got highlights %26amp; i got them like a chocolatie brown, %26amp; it looks good.

my sister has the same hair. you need to first of all thin it out by getting layers cut to your hair. just ask her to thin it out with layers. when you wake up shower, then use leave in conditioner to get rid of frizz ( i personally love chi products; silk infusion would work great) and DO NOT blowdry. it'll make your hair huge. just scrunch it with mousse and hairspray when its about 60% dry and im sure it won't frizz or be poofy :) hope this helps!

try the Herbal Essences line of products for curly hair called, totally twisted. i used them and they made my hair less frizzy and less "poofy". make sure you condition your hair every time you wash your hair, otherwise it could dry out and that causes frizz.

My hair is like yours. I use suave extra strength mouse. I use sunsilk anti-frizz or poof before styling. Use mouse and then hair spray your hair when you leave it wet and go. Use anti stuff or leave in conditioner then blow dry your hair. I do these and I also put mine in a pony tail or braided pig tails. Pony tail holders are had to come by that fit in my hair without breaking on the first use. I've had my hair thinned and cut into layers. That might help you.

Go to a salon and ask for advice. Try ones that are downtown, not neccesarily ones that are in the mall (although some mall salons are fine too) they should figure out the best cut for your facial shape, texture, thickeness, and possibly consider getting your hair professional straightened. Bring in pictures of hairstyles you like. Some ideas include razored bangs and layers. Dont cut your hair yourself if your not 100 percent confident, the extra money to get it professionally done is well worth it.

hey a good thing to do is to add bangs and have them gradually get longer to frame your face, in a kinda curved line that starts by your eyebrows and goes around to the back of your head and reveals longer layers underneath- it's super cute and ultra mod! (Length, layer w/ bangs= eyebrow to chin length, other layer= shoulder length)

Another cute thing is the A-line. it's a really high cut in the back of your head that gradually gets longer up to the front of your head, it's great if you have really thick hair in the back.

Both of these require minimal maintenance as they are naturally shaped, especially if you have natural volume.

black is so hard to get out! so be careful and make sure its what you want! and yes, you have to bleach it to put the red in or else it will do nothing. Red fades drastically though, so it's my advice not to get it done.

What styling products work best for my hair?

Its frizzy, yet reallly oily and really curly. I don't blow dry because it frizzes and damages my hair because I already straighten it. It knots up in the shower and is basically a rats nest. I use that hairapy stuff, the purple bottle so it helps straighten it, but I havn't really seen the difference, what works for ya'll?

While is is dry or still a little damp I spray a heavy amount of spray in. I cup a section of my hair in hand an push it towards the top of my head. Then i pull my bangs back.

I think I have the same style as you! I have VERY dark hair and I have a these awesome blonde lowlights and a chesnut highlite. First of all, is you hair straight? Highlights of dark hair look better if it's straight. I straighten my hair everyday, or use hair straightning shampoo. I sugguest keeping it long... I suggest having it dyed a nice goldenblonde with brown highlights!

As for color, if you want to make the most impact with your change I would recommend going dark. (I always think thick, dark hair is more striking than blonde, but then again I am biased! :) )

You should mix your hair color now with a color that is one color lighter than your hair color. Such as: mix light ash brown with a color one shade lighter, then put a shade or two darker underneath. You should get more choppy layers or even get razor cut layers--for more edgyness. i would use a mousse when your hair is still completly wet if you let it air dry you may find it feels stiffer when it dries but if you just blow dry for a minute or two it will eliminate that and feel natural then use a light spray when dry

I have had fine hair all my life and do not listen to the gel and mousse answers, all they do is weigh down your hair and make it look flat. I wash my hair, no conditioner, dry it and use a round brush if I am curling it under or out (which-ever). Then if you need to use a hairspray areosol not a pump use a light spray and syle. When done spray again lightly and it should stay.

the thing that works for me is getting my hair thinned out, cut at shoulder length into layers(long enough to pull up in a ponytail), and you can straighten it. but make sure that you have something to put on it for the frizz when you wear it natural.

Not much you can really do with frizzy curly type hair. Especially if you're short on time. I suggest you only go to a salon where they have a specalist in curly hair because a bad cut comes from any stylist who believes they can make it work without an understanding of the nature of curly hair. It is a special way of cutting and thinning. I suggest a consultation before the cut... always pick their brain, it is usually free and question them on the facts... see if they really KNOW curly hair and how it shrinks and grows very uneven...

Ouidad has some great product! Ouidad.com it does get pricey, but they are the best! If you are in or near NYC go to her salon... She is the best!

So my friend is in ROTC and is OBSESSED with keeping her hair short [like, boy short!] but she likes for me to style it when we go out, she wants me to be able to spike the back of her hair up [kinda emo style] and I don't really know how to do it!

As for me, I have almost shoulder length brown hair. I have alot of layers, and I'm about to be getting more and having my ends trimmed. My hair is very thick and quite stubborn, it is naturally wavy, but I straighten it when I'm going out. Have her wash her hair and towel dry it. When the back is still damp, put some gel, mousse, or hairspray in it and blowdry it upside down running your fingers through it upwards so it spikes up. Or you could try doing it dry, using some pomade and running your fingers through it upwards with the pomade. If it doesn't seem to want to spike, the problem could be its too thick or too long.

you can do a lot with that type of hair. I'm also getting use to short bladed cut hair too like japanese style. I've had mine long for the past 25 years and decided to make something different.

Anyway one way is to clip it in layers and use a 1" ceramic iron hair curler. Just curl 2 inches of your ends and you will have awesome soft curls and leave your bangs parted to one side. Another way is to straighten your hair with a ceramic hair straightener and have your bangs parted to one side. And hair pray your curls right after.

Use these shampoos. Paul Mitchell sleek and smooth. This shampoo will make your hair unfrizzy and unpoofy and really really soft. Also use a garnier fructis sleek and shine serum. After you straighten your hair is when you put the serum. Have fun it's really fun.

To get more volume blow dry your hair and on the roots of your hair massage a little bit of muosse.

I'm not really sure, but it sounds like you already have waves but it may be frizzy? If so, you should get a (shine?) serum or gloss to cut down on the frizziness. I hear Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny Serum works well. I personally use something called Porcelain, I think. Also, Sunsilk Frizz Ease works well on stoping frizz also and it may help your waves (it defines my curls).

I would suggest a blunt cut with maybe some slight layering at the bottom. It would give more body. Too many layers can make your hair look even thinner and flat. And keep the length below the chin. If you are a "healthy girl" (like me, not hating the plus size women), then I would do shoulder length. If you go too long however, you'll get more split ends and lifeless hair. As for product, I LOVE Paul Mitchell's Extra Body line. I would use the shampoo, conditioner (only on the ends, maybe once a week all over) and the mousse is awesome, as is the hairspray.

I have naturally curly hair that frizzes sometimes so I use frizz-ease by John Frieda. I even use it when my hairs not frizzy %26amp; its great! Also, my grandmother recommended it to me when i was 11 %26amp; ive used it since. (im almost 26)

I LOVE Curls Rock! I buy it in hair salons. It's about $12 for a container - put it on wet hair and then dry - I love it - espically when it is humid outside!
